Donna Froelich Obituary

FROELICH Donna Trojanowski Froelich, age 62, passed away the morning of Saturday, February 13, 2010 at home. Donna was born October 12, 1947 in Bridgeport, CT. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, CT. and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a long term employee of the Gahanna-Jefferson School District, working at Lincoln Elementary and most recently at High Point Elementary. The help and support received from the High Point staff meant a great deal to her and her family. She was most proud of her children and the adults they have become. She also cherished the closeness of her lifelong friends from Connecticut and those she made while attending Duquesne University. She considered herself fortunate to have lived in the best neighborhood one could have picked in Gahanna, with a very close group of loyal and caring neighbors. The recent engagement of Stacey to Eric made her very happy. Donna's happiest times were walking the beaches in Hilton Head and the long days of shelling on the Gulf Coast in Bonita Springs, FL. Donna is preceded in death by her father, Antoni Trojanowski. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne Froelich; mother, Helen (Lemanski) Trojanowski of Bridgeport, CT.; daughter, Stacey A. Froelich of Ashville, NC; son, Corey A. Froelich of San Diego, CA; aunt, Florence (Joseph) Dewhirst of Fairfield, CT; uncle, Edwin (Romelia) Lemanski of Riverdale, NY; brother- and sisters-in-law, Gary and Marcy Froelich of Pittsburgh, PA and Helen Froelich of Canton, OH. A celebration of Donna's life will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 17 with a Memorial Service at 6:45 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna. Wayne, Stacy, and Corey, our deepest sympathy as we share in the lose of Donna. Donna was one of the first neighbors we met when we moved to Gahanna from Seattle 21 years ago. After talking with her, we knew we had made the right decision to move into the community. Donna and I shared our love for dogs and how they added to the family unit. She will be remembered by my family as a very special person.

Stacy and my daughter Rachel were very good friends throughout high school, which is why I am fortunate enough to have met and known Donna and her husband Wayne. It never mattered how long it had been since we saw each other, i always felt like I knew her forever. She was an extremely warm and caring person, and I feel privileged to have known her, even for a little while. She will be missed very, very much.
