Dorothy Fekete Obituary

FEKETE Dorothy Helen Fekete, age 85, of Columbus, died December 31, 2008 at the Laurels of Worthington. Dorothy was born in Columbus, the daughter of Austin and Helen Krick. She was a graduate of South High School (Class of 1941, Mid-Year) and attended The Ohio State University where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a longtime member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of various church groups. She was also active with the Grandview Civic Association and the Child Conservation League. Dorothy was an expert seamstress, creating many wedding dresses for friends and family members. She also enjoyed other arts and crafts, as well as playing bridge with the OSU Coaches' Wives group. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a caring and giving person, willing to donate her time and talents to anyone in need. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gene Fekete; sons, Steven (Rhonda Hill) and Gary (Kathy) Fekete; grandsons, Kevin (Kellie O'Riordan), Jeffrey (Tracey Doyle) and Nicholas Fekete; sister, Joanne (Harry) Edgington; nieces and nephew, Judy (Dennis) Richardson, Diane Koontz, and Brian (Kelly) Edgington; many other nieces and nephews in Ohio, Illinois, New Mexico, and California. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1235 Northwest Boulevard, Grandview Heights, OH 43212, where friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL CHOICE, phone: (614) 539-4508. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to The Ohio State University Athletic Advancement Fund (Fund #307676), OSU Department of Athletics, 215 St. John Arena, 410 Woody Hayes Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43210 or the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 1373 Grandview Ave., Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43212.

I'm very sorry about Dorothy and enjoyed our infrequent contacts over the years. I lost my wife about 1 1/2 yrs. ago and she would share with me our condolences. I well remember the elevator to C deck.
