Dorothy Olpp Obituary

OLPP Dorothy T. Olpp, 90, of Clinton, Mich., died at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Michigan, Monday, March 24, 2008. She was born August 28, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Edwin and Grace (Gray) Tinkham. She was married to Theodore Olpp and he preceded her in death. Dorothy worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Dorothy was a volunteer for the Columbus Senior Citizens with recognition as Volunteer of the Year. She enjoyed quilting, card playing, volunteer work, helping others, vacationing in Florida and on Lake Erie and spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Edwin (Joyce) Piatt of Clinton, Michigan and Terry (Sue) Piatt of Denver Colorado; a daughter, Shirley (Michael) Dial of Concord, North Carolina; one sister, Alice Tinkham of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore, two brothers, a sister and one granddaughter. Funeral service will be held at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS FUNERAL HOME in Grove City, Ohio on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilot Dogs, Columbus, Ohio or local Leader Dogs for the Blind.
