RICHARD EVERETT

July 19, 2021

I met Duane in 1962. I was a recent college grad and a new GE Credit employee. Duane had been with GECC for several years and was an Operations Specialist. Our careers moved upward and we worked together on various projects. From "Day One" I admired Duane for his professionalism, intelligence, enthusiasm and dry wit. The standing joke at the Detroit Region Office was that anyone who could read Scott's or Everett's handwriting must be from Mars. We were equally illegible!! After over a decade at GE, we both left for new opportunities, but we stayed in touch through notes, phone calls & annual Christmas cards & letters. Several years ago, my wife (Barb) and I were in Columbus and spent an evening with Duane & Nancy. It was like "Old Times), discussing GE associates, politics, sports, literature & traveling. These were all interests that we shared. We found that the best thing about Duane Scott was that he never changed. He remained empathetic, interested and intellectually curious. He was a fine man.

Thanks Duane for all the good times.
