Mary, You are in my prayers. You have my deepest sympathy. Herschel and you have been like my brother and sister. Our years together at Lock Avenue were filled with many happy and fun times. Through all these years, that closeness has remained. Herschel was truly "a man after God's own heart." He lived as he preached. His Christlikeness was seen by all and felt by all. You both have touched the lives of many in the name of Christ. I believe Herschel may be sitting at the feet of Christ taking the awe of heaven in. Continue to lean on Christ, He is our Great Comforter. You are a real blessing to me. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

I was first impressed by Rev. Holley at a District Youth roundtable session in the late 80's. Rev, Holley was warm, friendly, and smiled a lot. He demonstrated an ability to bring people and ideas together. He brought harmony. Over the years, that first impression has become my lasting impression. He was always a warm, welcoming, Christ-like gentleman. His presence will be missed. Our prayers are with the Holley family and the Lighthouse Church. God is with you.

I am sorry for you loss, as I look back over the years, Herschel and all of you have been a wonderful source of spiritual support and guidance for me and my children. He will be missed by all. I am sorry we did not make it to the funeral. Jourdan had to work and Cassandra was ill.

I remember when I was getting baptised. I was so scared to go under the water and God love him he said it will be fine he said I promise and it was. Pastor Herschel was a man who loved the Lord, the church and his family. Very few men are able to share with others how much he loved you, his family, simply by example and how he so wonderfully spoke of all of you. Pastor Herschel was like another father to me. He was there in the very difficult times, and he was there for the good times. Mary, I remember you once saying that you didn't have to go far to find Jesus in your house, because Herschel was Jesus in your house. He was indeed a great representation of Jesus to myself and to all who knew him. What a privelege it was to have you and Herschel officiate our wedding at Niagra Falls. It is something Gwen and I will never forget. Our sympathies go out to you and the rest of the family. Liz and Sara your dad was a great man, and we all hurt with you at your loss. Dear Mary and family, my heart has been sad since hearing of Herschel's passing. Yet I know, once he was absent from the body he was present with the Lord, he had reached his eternal home. I have admired Herschel since child-hood. I count it a privilege to have been at the NYE service on 12/31 and to have prayed with him as we prayed out 2007 and prayed in 2008. I recall him saying "I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future." May God hold you and give you comfort and strength in the days, months and years to come. My prayers are with each of you. Rev. Holley was so good to my dad and visited him in OSU until my dad's homegoing. Rev. Holley was a God-send to Dad (Rev. Alwin Ingalls) and I will never forget Rev. Holley's kindness. Dad spoke of Rev. Holley with fondness and respect and was deeply touched by his kindness.

David and I were saddened about Pastor Holley. My husband went to school with him and attended Lock Ave. Church. Pastor Holley has been so nice over the years to Dave's Mother Virginia visiting her at home in the hospital along with Donald who recently had cancer.
Our prayers are with you and the family. Everytime I would contact Pastor Holley he was there for Virgina over the years. And if we moved back to Columbus we were planning on making the Pastors church home ours.
