Edmond Schecter Obituary

SCHECTER Dr. Edmond Schecter, of Columbus. Survived by his wife, Dolly; sons, Martin (Michael Sutula) Schecter and Michael (Michael Spaulding) Schecter; brother, Sandy (Marcia) Sanford; and grandchildren, Jacob and Noah. Edmond was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Bertha Schechter and his brother Morton Schechter. Dr. Schecter was an active member of Congregation Beth Tikvah and its brotherhood. He was a first lieutenant in the Army and a Commander of the Jewish War Veterans. Dr. Schecter worked as an optometrist with Columbus Vision Center, formerly known as Tyroler & Schecter, for over 40 years. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2007 at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main Street, with Rabbi Gary Huber officiating. Burial to follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at Michael Schecter's residence Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. Memorial contributions preferred to American Cancer Society or Congregation Beth Tikvah, 6121 Olentangy River Road, Worthington, 43085. I'm so sorry to hear about Dr. Schechter's passing. I was a patient of his for nearly twenty years, since I was five, and I can't imagine things without him. He was always patient and he made things easy to understand, even for a five year old.

When making our annual eye appointment, we were sadden by the news regarding the passing of our doctor. To the Family of Dr. Schecter, hold on to Jesus unchanging Hands and our prayers goes out to all of you. We will miss Dr. Schecter and will cherish his advise(s), conversations/laughter and his 15 minutes of fame (on the news). You were our doctor for over 20+ years and we would like to Thank the Family for sharing Dr. Schecter with us.
