Edward Arthur Deering

Deering Edward Arthur Deering, age 62, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on December 29, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School and The Ohio State University, and was the founder and owner of E.D. Coatings. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart, who loved the Buckeyes, skiing, sports cars, and the open road. Ed was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he played the guitar with their praise team. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Gini Deering; wife of 39 years, Cindy; daughter, Sarah (Deering) Gadjigo; son, Ted; sister, Kathi (Glenn) Howell; grand-dog, Sophie; and many other dear relatives and friends. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1000 Noe Bixby Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43213 with Rev. George Zoebl officiating. Interment at Lithopolis Cemetery, 4365 Cedar Hill Rd., Lithopolis, Ohio 43110. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church Elders Fund.
