Edward Larkin Obituary

LARKIN Edward C. "Ed" Larkin, 75, of London, died at 1:52 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2007. Born April 27, 1932, in Brunswick, Tennessee, he was a son of William Carroll and Mattie Mae (Johnson) Larkin. Ed started his employment at the former Williams Co. in London in 1955 and retired from there as a Production Manager for the Dial Corp. after 37 years of service. He was presently employed by Krazy Glue/MRDD in West Jefferson as a quality assurance supervisor. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion Post #105 in London. Ed attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union and was a member of the Madison County Coon Hunters Association. Always interested in helping children or doing for others, he was a Lifetime Member of the London Area Baseball Council. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Doris E. (McClaskie) Larkin; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Janet Larkin of Columbus; grandchildren, Wesley, Tyler, Aja, Sydney, and Ryan Larkin, all of Columbus; a sister, Dorothy (Everett) Kenny of Sacramento, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Austin Larkin. Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, London, with Pastor William Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Dear Phil,Janet and family, Please accept my condolences in the passing of your dad. From my brief meeting with him I could tell he was a wonderful man who had a great sense of humor. Take comfort knowing he is in a better place and at peace now.
