Elaine- I wanted to share some of my thoughts with you. Words cannot adequacy describe how much admiration I have for you during your difficult times. The courage, love and support you shown those you care about; will be something I will always remember. While things are what they are, the dignity and grace in which you displayed truly shows me how much love, hope and caring you had for your daughters and those you love. I am just so mad, it hurts... I don't understand why this is happening and I'm having a difficult time coming to grips with it. It seems like just yesterday we were off of Lazelle Rd and you were sitting me & TJ down to help us work out our puppy love issues, or chasing TJ around the car because Denise couldn't go somewhere with her... ah the good old days! Where has time gone? I'll leave you with this Irish Blessing that my grandmother made me promise to remember. I have never been good at goodbyes, as I always think it is not goodbye but rather until we see each other again and I cannot think of better words I could write to convey how I feel so here it is... May the Road rise to meet you. May the Wind be always at your back. May the Sun shine warm upon your face and Rains fall soft upon your Fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. Love Dan Underhill

My heart hurts and I cry everytime I think of what it is like to go through losing your mom. You've been in my thoughts and prayers so much. The bond between a mother and child is so deep and it hurts so when one passes on. I'm glad you were with your mom in her last weeks. I know you've shed a lot of tears and some smiles thinking back on fun memories. May those precious memories carry you through this sad time. I trust you will fine comfort in knowing she is pain free, in a better place now, and knowing that one day you will see her again.
I know the days ahead are going to be very tough and you'll miss her so much. Great memories, family, freinds and loved ones will carry you through. My heart go out to all your family. I miss you and hate I can't be there to give you a HUGE hug. It's waiting for you when you get home to Charlotte. I love you!

Elaine, I am so glad that I got to come Easter weekend & visit with you. I will always smile when I reminisce of all the good times. My blonde moments(& boy there were many) always made you laugh & I promise, I will never have a criminal background. LOL, Your favorite that you would never let me forget. Ha Ha Ha. I will always remember the Knotslanding & Melrose Place nights, Spending 4th of July with you in the Big Bear Parking lot watching the fire works from your car, Making runs for you to UDF, Rooming with you on Lazelle Rd, Super Mario Brothers & Tetris(you were the first Mom that I ever met that loved those video games as much as we did), The bicyclist streaker that you chased down, & when we tried to talk in teenage language so you wouldn't know what we were talking about, you always knew exactly what we were saying & would call us out on it. You are the coolest Mom that I have ever met & you have blessed me with 3 wonderful daughters that have remained in my life since I was 15 & hopefully for many many more years to come. I will never truly understand what the purpose of you leaving this earth so soon & so young, but I know that you are in a much better place than we are and as you are rejoicing we will be mourning & time will only heal our broken hearts. You will always remain in sooooo many hearts forever. I truly miss you & you will NEVER be forgotten. Rest in Peace Elaine & one day we will all be reunited again. Love You, TJ Underhill

The moving hand writes and having writ, moves on
Nor all your piety, nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line
Nor all your tears wash out a word of it.
The beautiful poem that your mother has written is you three girls. I hope every single word of love that she wrote in her life comes to comfort you in your deepest sorrow.
