Ellen Burke Obituary

BURKE Ellen S. Burke, 82, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 at Friendship Village of Columbus. Retired from The Columbus Dispatch after many years in the advertising art/creative services department. Ellen was a 1941 graduate of North High School and attended Capital University (vocal music) and The Ohio State University (commercial art). She loved Boston terriers, red cars, and Georgia O'Keeffe paintings. She was preceded in death by her parents John Harvey Spangler and Anna Ruth Spangler, and by her loving husband Jack H. Burke. She is survived by brother, John (Genevieve) Spangler; sons, Tim (Barbara) Lloyd and John (Brenda Chaney) Lloyd; grandchildren, Emily Lloyd and Claire Lloyd, Sarah (Joe) Yersavich, Adam Chaney, and Rebecca Garrett; great-grandchildren, Sam and Erin Yersavich; nephews, David and Ron Spangler; and by many dear friends at Friendship Village. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 at Friendship Village of Columbus, 5800 Forest Hills Blvd., Columbus, OH 43231. I feel so sad to think of Ellen's death. I have so many memories of her. I met Ellen for the first time when she had just gotten home from the hospital when Tim was born. Tim and John, you have my heartfelt sympathy. I know how badly you feel to lose your Mother.
