Emily Lloyd Obituary

Lloyd, Emily J.
Emily Jane Lloyd, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 24, 1934 in Coshocton, Ohio to Dr. Wayne and Beaulah (Roby) Carpenter. She attended Hathaway-Brown in Cleveland, Ohio for high school; and Pembroke School/Brown University. In 1961 she married Dr. George D. Lloyd and together they raised four children in Worthington, Ohio. Emily enjoyed a successful and varied career as an Employment Recruiter, Real Estate Agent and Real Estate Developer. When she wasn't involved in her career, or raising children, she enjoyed auctions, estate sales and garage sales for the pursuit of that diamond in the rough. Emily was very generous with her time and resources, having donated to various animal charities; as well as involvement with The Assistance League of Central Ohio and the Columbus Grief Group. She is survived by her sister, Janet Carpenter of Ocala, Fl; sons, George (Shannon) Lloyd of Orange County, CA, Wayne (Laura) Lloyd of Columbus, OH, and Clark (Katie) of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Wesley Foster (Laura), Christian and Kaelyn Lloyd (George), John and Theodore Lloyd (Clark). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 51 years, George and daughter Laura (John) Purcell. Following cremation, her ashes will be interred with her parents in Ocala, Florida.
