Erin Gibbons Obituary
Erin Elizabeth Gibbons, age 53, Saturday July 29, 2017 at Kobacker House after a ten month battle with cancer. Erin was born in Fredericksburg, VA on May 18, 1964. She grew up in Akron and Columbus, Ohio. Erin attended St. Sebastian School (Akron), St. Michael School and Bishop Watterson High School. Graduate of Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN. (Bachelors of Arts), The University of Notre Dame (Bachelor of Arts in Italian), Thunderbird School of Global Management (Masters of International Business),
Case Western Reserve (Masters of Nursing) and The Ohio State University (Masters of Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry). Erin was a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Central Ohio. Erin had a life long love of travel and visited eighty-two countries, spoke four languages and had friends all around the world. Member of Saint Mary's College Alumni Club, St. Brigid of Kildare Parish, a Dame in the Order of Malta, and supported and volunteered for numerous service organizations including the Women's Care Center, Capital Area Humane Society, Cozy Cat Cottage and the Order of Malta. She is survived by parents Jack and Kay Gibbons; brothers and sisters Jack, Jr. (Brenda), Sheila (Todd Kays), Kathleen, Brian (Tiffany) and Michael (Erin); 10 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends including PJP and MT. Friends may call Thursday 4-7 p.m. and Friday 10-11 a.m. at St. Brigid of Kildare Church, 7179 Avery Rd. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 11 a.m. Burial Kingwood Memorial Park. We are so sad to here about Erin. Judy and I took care of her dogs Mutsy and John Paul for years. Erin loved her dogs so much and we know they meant the world to her. We will always be grateful for her friendship and love. Erin we will always have you in our memories as we know everyone will. We are so lucky to have had a person in the world like Erin.

Erin was my real estate client but became a very good friend over the years. I spoke with her several months ago when she told me she was battling cancer. I told her I would keep her in my prayers. I left a message a few weeks ago and did not hear back so feared the worst. I know she was a wonderful guiding light in the Gibbons family and my deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. She will be missed but not forgotten....always
