Ethel Compnotta Obituary

COMPNOTTA Ethel M. Thompson Justice Compnotta, 81, Ashville, formerly of Columbus, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus. Born May 30, 1925, in Louisa, KY, daughter of the late Charley and Lizzie Moore Thompson. Ethel was a seamstress and was a member of the North Linden Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and the Girls-in-Action class for many years. She was also a member of Women's Christian Fellowship, Columbus. Preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Grace Reynolds Thompson, 1st husband Ralph Justice, 3 sisters, 7 brothers. Survived by husband, Joseph Compnotta, Columbus; son, Buddy (Judy) Justice, Charleston, W.Va.; daughter, Kay (Ted) Melvin, Ashville; step-children, Larry, Jim, and Joe Compnotta, Penny and Martha Compnotta, all of Columbus, Connie Compnotta of Hilliard; brothers, Kenneth (Sue), Eugene (Ruth Ann), Dallas (Penny), and Harold Lee Thompson of Columbus, OH, Ernest Ray (Evelyn) of Flint, MI, Ireland Glen (Susie) Thompson, Pritchard, W.Va.; sister, Helen (Glenn) Hyder, Lake City, TN; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, Ashville from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, where service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside service will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby, W.Va. at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Jerry Cline officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Arthritis Foundation, 3740 Ridge Mill Dr., Hilliard, OH 43026 or to Homereach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
