Francis Poches Obituary

Poches, Francis
1937 - 2017
Francis "Frank" "Pokey" Poches, age 80, of Gahanna, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2017. Born April 30, 1937 in Trimble, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Julia (Barsh) Poches, son Jeffrey Poches and brother Chuck Poches. Frank grew up in Jacksonville, and remained very involved in his childhood home, even after leaving. He was a graduate from Jacksonville Trimble High School, Class of 1955, where he was later inducted into the athletic hall of fame. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged. He retired from White Westinghouse after 38 years of service. Very community-oriented, Frank served at open shelters, raised funds for his alma mater, was a member of and served as a deacon at Mifflin Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed his second career at Kroger where he could talk to people and share his wonderful sense of humor. His love of nature and traveling led him to see all 50 states, cruising to Alaska, Hawaii and many other destinations. A fan of the Buckeyes sports, he held season tickets to basketball, traveled to away games, and enjoyed numerous Buckeye Cruise for Cancer opportunities. Card club, penny slots, frequent lunches, pranks, jokes and "Let's motor" are ways Frank will be remembered as well. He is survived by his loving wife, Jayne (Jarvis) Poches; son, Greg (Marlene) Poches; grandchildren, Lauren Danielle Epps and Braden Gregory Poches; sisters-in-law, Nancy Poches, Jennifer (George Kasper) Kane; brother-in-law, Jeff (Linda) Jarvis; nieces and nephews, Cherie Poches (Jon) Murray, Jana Poches (Phil) Marsh, Jessica Kane, Brian (Jessica) Kane, Randy (Krista) Jarvis and Todd (Melissa) Jarvis; aunt, Alice Spencer and family; great nieces and nephews, Alecia and Shane Murray, Charlie Marsh, Chelsie Patterson, Ciara, Brady and Weston Jarvis, and Hannah Kane. Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4-7PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where a memorial service will be held Saturday at 12PM with Pastor David Bubb officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, Ohio. Jayne,
I am so sadden and so sorry for the loss of your husband Frank. I will truly miss seeing him from my kitchen window always working and doing things in his yard. He was always working outside and seemed to love and enjoy it. Sometimes its hard to see though our tears, but even when we can't see, trust God to be there strenthening you and giving you what you need to face each new day without your mate. In His wisdom God has plans beyond our understanding and our powers to see, So No matter what; He will hold you close, and see you though.
"GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU"

Love, Your Neighbors Rose & Robin Jones

We have been your backyard neighbors for over 33 years, & often watched Frank work in your backyard. During the holidays, when your back curtains were open we could see your beautiful Christmas tree, & see family members around your holiday table. It looked like a happy family time. We are so very sorry for Frank's unexpected passing.

Janie,
I was so surprised and sad to hear of Frank's passing. He was such a great friend and nice to work with at Frigidaire. Seems like I've known him forever and will miss him at our Frigidaire dinners.
My prayers are with you and all your family; I know exactly what you are going through right now, as I lost my dear husband 20+ years ago.
Hugs,
