George William "Bill" Hauff

1936 - 2017

Hauff George William "Bill" Hauff, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his home. He was born February 10, 1936 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to the late Frank and Florence (Roth) Hauff. Bill enjoyed growing up in the country. He had a love for Morel mushroom hunting in Ohio and Michigan. Bill and his wife, Jean, traveled across the country to experience nature, especially enjoying Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon. Bill was an avid flower gardener. He was a loving husband and father who spent time with his family camping, vacationing and going to classic car shows. He was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and Tiffin University. He served in the U.S. Army. Bill retired after 33 years of dedicated service from the State of Ohio Bureau of Employment. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Jill Hauff and brother Charles "Chuck" Hauff. He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Jean (Karns) Hauff; sons, Jeff Hauff and Tim Hauff; beloved grandchildren, Marlin and Robin Hauff; extended family and friends. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 and from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017.
