Gerald P. "Jerry" Fry

1933 - 2016

Fry Gerald P. "Jerry" Fry, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by family and friends, and their wonderful staff in ICU. Jerry was a 1951 graduate of West High School, Capitol University and received his Masters from The Ohio State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Teaching and coaching at Eastmoor High School, Brookhaven and Beechcroft guidance counselor, followed by 10 years in Admission at Ohio Wesleyan University and a member of the Greater Columbus Emmaus Community. Jerry was born to the late Donna and Kenneth Fry on July 19, 1933. He is survived by his wife, Patti (Kight) of 62 years; daughter, Jennifer Fry of Columbus; sister and husband, Jean and Giles Rafsnider of Denver, CO; cousins, Elinor Morgan and Ed and Donna Fry of Springfield, OH; sister-in-law and husband, Marilyn and Gary Allen; brothers-in-law, Jack and Judy Kight and Bob and Linda Kight; numerous nieces and nephews and their families and many wonderful friends. Family will receive friends Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Maize Manor United Methodist Church, 3901 Maize Rd. with Dr. Carl Wiley and Rev. Jim Freshour officiating.
