We have been so blessed to be neighbors with the Koesters. Gerry always took the time to say hello, share his time and just listen. We were always amazed at his compassion for others. His family is so honored to have a man that put them first. That is so rare these days. He truly is a special man. He fought this battle so courageously. Peace to our dear friend!!!!

A kind and friendly neighbor for 14 years, Jerry was a favorite of ours. We will always remember his humor, honesty, and down to earth character. He was always one to smile, wave hello, or take time for a friendly chat. I know he will be missed greatly by his family, who he clearly adored. A few years ago, we remember the joy he showed in telling of planning vacations for his entire family, from the location where all would go, to the nightly menus. No doubt Jerry's grand kids will treasure those vacation memories.

Rest in peace, Jerry.

I have so many fond memories of being a neighbor for 20 years!! The Koesters family is held close in prayer during this difficult time. Gerry's soccer training skills were not lost on my children, our family benefitted greatly from his perspective and willingness to bring a smile to your face. Your family is richly loved by the example that you gave, my friend.

I am saddened by the death of Jerry, my 1st cousin, who was also a neighbor growing up in Coldwater, OH. next to us and our family who lived on a farm on St. Anthony Rd. We spent many evenings, our families, visiting, laughing, catching fireflies(lightening bugs in our days) and doing kid things. When I left Coldwater, I lost contact with Jerry, Barb and Tim. Time and distance has a way of doing that. I never forgot about him and always asked relatives if they ever had contact. I'm sorry that I wasn't a better 1st cousin and tried to keep more in touch.
My heart goes out to Tim, Barb and Aunt Vivian...plus Pat and family. Know that Jerry and all of you will be in our prayers. All our deepest sympathy.

My sons have the blessing of being Jerry's grandchildren.  There are so many memories, so many fond moments over the years in my heart, that Jerry was a part of.  I will never forget his joy the first time he saw and held my boys, playing with them, coming to their school and sports events.  He truly loved and supported his family, and while I am deeply saddened by this loss, I know that he is always with us.  I see him in my sons, and we will hold him in our hearts forever.

Gerry was a special man always with a smile or laugh and a word of encouragement. He loved our pup Mercedes and we enjoyed watching them play. We'll always remember how courageous he has been the last few years . . may Jesus hold him in his arms forever.

My husband Fritz and I share two grandchildren with Pat and Jerry. Never have we seen a man more devoted to his family. He has left a void that cannot be filled. It is comforting to know that he witnessed all three of his children thriving in loving, committed relationships, and that his grandchildren are old enough to remember always his unconditional love for them. We will remember him where he was happiest- watching a soccer game with the sun on his face.
Godspeed, Jerry-Job well done.
