I still think of Gladys every day as I drive through Grandview on my way to work. I miss her terribly and wonder why such a beautiful person inside and out had to leave us way too soon. I think of John, Jack and Joe and wonder how they are doing as well. What a wonderful gift Gladys was to all of us.

While I did work with Gladys on projects at Nationwide, what I remember about her is how kind she was when I would see her around the building. Her spirit was greater than her size and she was very sweet.

Gladys was a colleague to many and a friend to all she met. My husband and I both had the pleasure to work with her at Nationwide several times over the years. You could always count on her for a smile that would light up the room. She will be greatly missed and remembered by all. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Gladys always seemed to know who she was and where she was going. She was confident and kind, and I always enjoyed spending time with her. She had a spark, a twinkle that made her very special. I am very sorry for your family's loss.

I only knew Gladys from soccer and baseball until after she became ill. Then I got to talk to her a little more, and was moved by her peaceful demeanor and her acceptance of what is. What a beautiful spirit. We will continue to pray for her family, especially the boys.

I met Gladys through Team Spam. Although the team faded away as people moved, married, had children, the fond memories of the summers of fun in our younger days endures. I fondly remember that Gladys hosted a 'day before first day of school coffee and donuts gathering' for moms and children in the neighborhood. My children and I were fortunate to attend soon after moving to Grandview. She welcomed all with her kind smile and gentle ways. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. Our prayers are with John, Jack, Joe and her entire family.

Gladys will be missed here at Nationwide, she was always friendly to everyone. Anytime you seen here in passing she would make a point to say hello or at least wave and smile. I had the Pleasure to work with her a few times while she was here. God Bless her family and comfort them with their loss.

James and I send our condolences to Gladys's family. Gladys will be truly missed by all, she touched a lot of hearts in many ways. She was truly a wonderful person. I have known Gladys for a very long time and never once did I every meet anyone who did not say what a loving and kind person she was. Gladys was a loving mother and wife, always bragging on her family. She was very proud of her husband and children. She faught a hard battle and God seen that she was growing weary and knew it was time to take her under his wing, she always took care of everyone here and now God says it is time for him to take care of her.

Gladys was one of the first "Grandview Moms" I met when our sons were little, and it was such fun to be in her company at baseball games, school events, community events, and those wonderful back-to-school breakfasts that she hosted when our kiddos were schoolmates at Stevenson Elementary. She was kind, caring, smart, and funny, with a wicked sense of humor. We will miss her so much, and we are very grateful to have had her in our lives.

Gladys and I had been friends for more than 20 years. We went to OSU together and then worked at Nationwide Insurance Company together. She was such a special friend and I miss her greatly. Gladys and I grew up together, we had a lot of great memories, I also remember my many slumber parties and Gladys and I and my other friends playing Price is Right on a tape recorder, she was a great friend.

I wrote this for Gladys on my Facebook page on Sunday. I am so sorry for your loss. Gladys was wonderful person. I had deep respect for her.
A good friend of mine passed away this afternoon. Her name was Gladys Kessler.
Gladys worked for me, and then with me at Nationwide. She worked very hard at her job, was constantly learning new things, and asked for help to get better. Before her children were born, getting her MBA was one of her proudest moments. She worked very hard for that degree.
What set Gladys apart for me is that she loved life, she loved her husband John, and adored her two sons Jack and Joe. She was a gentle soul, and put her family before herself.
She made a career decision about 10 years ago to develop her technical skills. She asked me for my opinion of her move to the technical side. I gave her my opinion, and was so very touched she asked me what I thought. It was a great move for her career.
I would see her in the halls and stop to talk about her sons and how they were growing. She would ask about my son, as she knew of him when he was a teenager; and asked about my daughter and later about my grandchildren.
Gladys made me choke up when we talked about my son in Afghanistan, and cried with me, told me he was well trained, and I would see him again. She made me feel better, and in a small way every time I would see her after that, I felt a little less anxious. Gladys cared, and had a deep affinity for everyone she worked with.
In the last year, Gladys had leukemia. She fought very hard to beat this disease. I went to see her last year, and was unfortunately turned away due to the risk of infection to her. I sent her notes, and tried to lift her spirits. She was very tough, and I prayed for her to beat this disease.
Gladys loved life, usually had a smile on her face, and always had a sassy word for me. I will miss Gladys, her spirit, and the joy she found from the simple things in life. The world lost a wonderful person today.
