Gordon Philip Voelker

1925 - 2013

Voelker Gordon Philip Voelker, of Upper Arlington, died on November 30, 2013. He was born on October 17, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Philip C. Voelker and Lorena Starke Voelker. Gordon was raised in Toledo, Ohio and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1954 with his family. He retired from F.L. Aerospace, Janitrol Aero Division as Contracts Manager. He graduated from University of Toledo with a BBS Degree. While a student at Toledo he was President of the Student Y, Chairman of the World Student Service Fund and member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He served as President of Northwest Kiwanis in 1998. He was recognized with the Kiwanis Ted Eaton Service Award in 1993-94 and the International Kiwanis, George F. Hixson Fellow Award in 2000. Gordon was a member of Community Lodge #684, 32nd Degree Masons, Aladdin Shrine Temple, and Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Voelker; daughter, Carol Jane Bergmann (Charles); son, Philip Allan Voelker (Linda); grandchildren, Kathryn Ann Bergmann Marshall (Donald), Kristin Diane Bergmann (Nicholas Boekelheide), Matthew Philip Voelker and Lauren Nicole Voelker; and great-grandson, Emery Marshall. According to Gordon's wishes there will be no services. Entombment at Kingwood Memorial Park.
