Harold Dean Waldrop

WALDROP Harold Dean Waldrop, age 69, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005 after a long bout with pulmonary fibrosis. Harold was a retired Army 1SG, and Viet Nam veteran, serving his nation for over 26 years. He spent many years as a manager for the McDonalds Corp. culminating as an employee of the Worthington School District, Wilson Hill. He was a member of St. Paul's Parish and an active member of VFW Post 7883 Westerville. He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. Survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Helga; son, James (Sieglinde) Waldrop; daughters, Doris (Tom) Edelmann, Sharon (Keith) Dunham; grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Waldrop, Kristina and Tommy Edelmann; sister, Jean Pokorney. Friends may call at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005. A loving husband, and devoted father and grandfather. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in his memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
