Herbert R. Holter

Holter Herbert R. Holter, 91, of Canal Winchester, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born August 6, 1922 in New Albany, Ohio to the late John William and Nellie Mae (Doran) Holter. He worked as an Engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad (now Conrail) for 43 years. He is survived by his daughters, Marlena Kay Holter, Rose Ann (Dan) Sanders, Sue Holter; son, Russell (Karen) Holter; grandchildren, Valerie (Matt) Vannelli, Diana (Ryan) Sharrer and Joe (Jennifer) Holter; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Vincent, Sofia, Julianna, Mia, Lily and Joshua; sister, Mamie Street; sister-in-law, Helen Holter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Herbert is preceded in death by his wife Naomi C. Holter who passed away in 1999, brothers Everett, Alvin and Edwin Holter. Friends may visit Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DWAYNE R. SPNECE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Dr. Richard Ellsworth officiating.
