Ivan Ray Mast

Mast Ivan Ray Mast, Senior, died peacefully surrounded by friends and family November 29, 2015. Born December 21, 1935 in Millersburg, Ohio, Ivan was a faithful man with a generous heart and loving soul. Ivan is survived by his devoted wife, Arie (Hochstetler) Mast and their children, Duane (Linda) Mast, Ivan Junior, (Katie) Mast, and Joyce (James) Schrock; his grandchildren, Ryann (Anthony) Castro, Krista (Clint) Fliger, Leanndra (Joshua) Yates, Ivan Mast III, and Nathan Schrock; his step grandchildren, Roy VonAlmen III, Denise Simmons, Jennifer (Jay) Sauer, Stephanie (Jason) Milbery, Traci (Darren) Debo, and Bethanie (Andy) Gossard; his great grandchildren, Theodore and Gabriella Yates, Jacob and Noah Parks, Maggie and Abby Milbery, Faith and Alex Butch, and Roxie and Ruby Gossard; as well as extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Dan and Bertha (Miller) Mast, infant sister Sarah Mast, and brother Lee Roy Mast. Founder of West Jefferson Plumbing and Heating in 1976, he forged a legacy that lives on through the surviving family. An active member of Sharon Mennonite Church, he enjoyed sunny days spent golfing, fishing, and hunting, often with his family. His faith drove his decisions and passions, evident to those close to him. He fervently loved his grandchildren, departing wisdom to them in nuggets through stories from childhood and life. Described by many as loyal, gentle, determined, and caring, he was able to fix anything with one of his tools. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the funeral service on Wednesday, December 2 at 10 a.m. at Sharon Mennonite Church, 7675 Amity Pike, Plain City, OH.
