Jaime Smith-e-Incas Obituary

SMITH-e-INCAS Jaime Cornelio Smith-e-Incas, age 88, went home to the Lord Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Grant Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1920 in Pindad, Panama to Walter Herman and Sylvia Cecelia Smith-e-Incas. He was a graduate of Licao del Instituto National de Panama; the Universidad National de Panama; Howard University, and Howard University Medical School. He was a licensed psychiatrist, practicing for more than 50 years in the Columbus community. A member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Jaime was active in many social and community organizations. In recent years, he was a regular attendee of Antioch Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Ann, three sisters Cora, Lucy, and Eyette. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda; daughters, Lori Smith-e-Incas, Yma (Everett) Guay, Bianca (Arlo) Allen; step-daughter, Robin Haynes; grandchildren, Jaime (Olivia) Smith-e-Incas, Mezyune Smith-e-Incas, Arlo Allen, III, Zxyrlina Allen, Anika Allen, Kenneth Batiste, Damian Batiste, Christopher Batiste, Stephan Batiste; step-grandsons, Mark (Tiffney) Haynes, Andre Kates; great-granddaughter, Bianca Smith-e-Incas; brother, Enrique Smith; mother-in-law, Erma Crockett; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; and many loving nieces and nephews and loyal friends. Funeral service 12 noon Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Antioch Baptist Church, 1015 Chambers Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43212. Rev. James Frazier, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday, 10 a.m. until the start of service. Entombment in Union Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. My condolences to the Smith-e-Incas family. Dr. Smith-e-Incas was my very first employer during my last year of high school (1966). I will never forget the memories of working with him as I always felt he was a brilliant man. I am sure the community will miss him.
