James E. Boster

BOSTER James E. Boster, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was born April 10, 1931 in Columbus to the late Richard and Dorothy (Heffner) Boster. U.S. Navy Veteran. Jim graduated from Bexley High School, received his undergraduate degree from Capital University, where he remained an active member of the alumni association, and earned his master's degree from The Ohio State University. He was a longtime principal and administrator, and retired as executive director of High Schools and Career Centers for Columbus Public Schools. Jim was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen "Jean" Boster in 2004. Survived by his son, Mark A. Boster and grandsons; daughter, Laura J. (Bill) Rooney and granddaughters, Emma and Elizabeth Rooney; brothers, Thomas (Roberta) Boster and Jerry (Carol) Boster; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main St. in Bexley, where family will receive friends following the service.
