James Hawkins Obituary

HAWKINS SR. James Hawkins Sr., went Home to be with the Lord with family at his bedside on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital at the age of 70. He was born August 8, 1940 in Decatur, Mississippi. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful member of Faith Ministries Church until the Lord called him Home. He was an Honorary Greeter and active with the Media Ministry. He enjoyed photography and listening to his favorite jazz and gospel artist. He was a former member of Pool of Bethesda Church of the Living God. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force and retired from DCSC and DFAS. He is preceded in death by parents Clarence and Martice Louise Hawkins, first wife Wilma Bosby Hawkins, sisters Ruby Donnelly and Betty Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Constance (Easley) Hawkins; brother, Willie (Molly) Hawkins; son, James Hawkins, Jr.; daughter, Najah Brown; grandchildren, Ebony and Jamie Hawkins, Bakari Brown; five great-grandchildren; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Faith Ministries Church, 2747 Agler Road, Columbus, OH 43224. Dr. C. Dexter Wise III, officiating. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE.
