James Loomis Obituary

LOOMIS James P. Loomis, age 78, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Columbus Rehabilitation and Subacute Institute. James was a Legislative Liaison for the State of Ohio and private organizations. He was a former member of Elks, Charity Newsies, V.F.W., F.O.P. Auxiliary, Swiss Club, BPOE, OSU Retirees Association. He attended Wittenburg University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi. Veteran of U.S. Army, WW II CBI Theatre, where he was part of the last Army horse calvary and jumping team units. Preceded in death by his mother Elsie Loomis Hayner, father Harold Loomis and brother Richard Loomis. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanie Loomis; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory (Norrie) Loomis; grandchildren, Neil and Evelyn Loomis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sandy and Larry Snyder; several nieces and nephews. Private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, Charity Newsies or Franklin County Humane Society.
