James Mimnaugh Obituary

MIMNAUGH James "Peter" Mimnaugh, age 69, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Peter was born in Portchester, New York, son of the late Joseph and Beatrice Mimnaugh. U.S. Army Veteran. Attended Spring Hill College. Peter was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church for 31 years where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Serra Club of Columbus. Peter was a man with a dynamic personality. He loved to talk, was a keen listener, and had the ability to make people feel at ease, as if they had known him for years. Very proud of his Irish ancestry, Peter was the true patriarch of his family. He enjoyed family reunions, Thanksgiving trips back to the east coast, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. His abilities as a caregiver were not just for his family, but shared throughout the entire community. Survived by loving wife of 42 years, Ellen; children, Michael (Carrie) Mimnaugh, Margaret Ann "Megan" Mimnaugh, Maureen Sharon (Tony) Lukasz, and Patricia Gail Mimnaugh; grandchildren, Meredith and Peter Mimnaugh and Elizabeth and Catherine Lukasz; siblings, J. Ross (Michaele) Mimnaugh Jr., Sharon (Alain) Meyer, Michael T. (Kathleen) Mimnaugh, Susan (Stephen) O'Neill, Ellen Mary Mimnaugh, Mark (Joan) Mimnaugh, and Thomas P. (Lisa) Mimnaugh; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial Mass to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Rd. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Father Daniel Ochs officiating.
