James Monst Obituary

Monst, James
1974 - 2018
James "Jim" R. Monst, age 44, passed away December 9, 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born March 8, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio to his parents Michael and Janet (Hare) Monst. Jim enjoyed his work for Jones Top Soil, and was a man who could do anything, whether it was building trucks or fixing houses. He met the love of his life in 1981, and they spent a decade together before their marriage on July 1st, 2017. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and racing, but above all else his family always came first. Jim had a warm heart, and he never knew a stranger. He would do anything for anyone, with no hesitation. Jim will be missed dearly by those who had the opportunity to know him. Jim is preceded in death by his brothers Gene and Michael Monst. Left to mourn his passing is his devoted wife Kay; the children he raised as his own: Joseph Courtney, Kyle Monst, Gracie Lynn Stout, who was his "Moo Moo"; Vanessa Curry, Russell Courtney, Wyatt (Cari) Courtney, Sarah Knowlton and Nicholas Summers; his grandchildren Elizabeth Hatfield, Wyatt and A.J. Courtney, Kayden Durst and Conner Haskins; his parents Michael and Janet; his brothers Timothy (Devin Clark) and Don (Lori) Monst; his best friend Bear; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger funeral home, located at 151 East Main Street Circleville, on Friday December 14 from 6 to 8pm, as well as for an hour prior to the service. Jim's funeral service will be held Saturday December 15 at 10:30am with Dan Tipton officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beckett Cemetery.
