I still remember as though it were yesterday. I still feel his presence by the north door in the pews. His craftsmanship is all through the church. God Speed Forever Pastor Rod & Family.

I grew up in the 50s in a hollow, actually, a "holler," a place called "Ground Hog Holler" at Warfield, Kentucky. It was a wonderful place in many ways because the house next to us was the home of Mr. Allen Parsley, his darling wife, Molly Parsley, and a family of boys, Dave, Arnold, Leo, Clyde and Don. This family was so extraordinarily good and kind to everyone, including me, a boy several years younger that the Parsley boys, a boy who tagged after Mr. Clyde Parsley and Mr. Don Parsley. Time passed and Mr. Clyde Parsley met, courted and married the beautiful Miss Ellen Endicott. I knew something the courtship because I was a tag along sometimes. It was 1957, I believe, when Rev. Rod Parsley became a family member. I think maybe Clyde and Ellen and the family were living in Cleveland at the time. I also think Don Parsley was there in Cleveland also. Rod spent some time there at the grand parents' home and I was around lots of the time doing this and that. The 60s came and I went away to college. I believe that Clyde and Ellen lived in Columbus by that time. I also think that Mr. Clyde Parsley worked inside the Peter Cave Coal Company mines with my dear father, Mr. Tom Kirk, during those years and traveled to Columbus on the weekends. Today, My dear friends John Parsley and Terry Petrie informed me of Mr. Clyde Parsley's passing. I am very sad to hear it but I take comfort knowing that he was a good man who lived a good life and that he will be carried to Heaven. For the past many years, I have lived in my own world (Kirk Law Firm) and have lost touch with this wonderful family, to my regret. I have talked enough. I just wanted to say something about this wonderful family. Thank you. John Kirk

To: Mrs. Parsley, Pastor Rod & Joni, Amy Ashton and Austin, know that my prayers are with you. Everyday may you feel the presence of a loving God mending your broken hearts. Thank you for sharing Mr.Parsley with me, I will be forever grateful. He was a Patriarch of Patriarchs! A faithful husband, Father, grandpa and a special friend! Heaven just got a little bit sweeter when he was ushered in the presence of God. And I can only imagine what a time him and Debbie are having! Mr. P. I will always love you and God thank you for giving us a glimpse and a reflection of you through the life of Mr. Parsley.
