Very sad to learn about the passing of an OT legend in pediatrics. Her OT for children textbook encouraged me to work with children for the first 10 years of my career as an OT. The field of OT has lost a great. Rest in peace. You will be missed. Love to her family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Jane Case-Smith. I did not know she had health challenges. When listening to her at a UW-Madison training, I was in awe of the humility with which she presented her astounding work, her compassion for the children she spoke of, and her general positive spirit. I was so very sorry that she could not live to fulfill everything she wanted to do. I am so sad for the family to have lost such an awesome loved one. Praying for you all.

The very sad news reached the Netherlands. Jane worked with us towards the Amsterdam Paediatric OT conference in 2012 and provided us all with two inspirational presentations. Her work supports paediatric OT's all over the world and will live on through her publications and books. Our deep condolences to family, friends and colleagues.

Although I had never met her, I looked to her as the authority on pediatric occupational therapy and still, to this day, use as a resource even though I graduated in 1998.

I knew Dr. Case-Smith from afar as a professor for years using her textbooks and may writings to guide my OT students in their studies. Grace to her family, she left the world a better place.

I was honored to work with Jane when I worked at the OSU Health Sciences Library . She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Library and her advice and wisdom was frequently called upon when we needed to make decisions on library priorities . I am deeply sorry for your loss

I am grateful to have written for Jane, and to have known her as a friend. We enjoyed an annual date at the AOTA Conferences for many years. I delighted in Jane's passion for OT, and her terrific sense of humor. I appreciated her support of my desire to take OT practice farther. I will miss her greatly, and treasure my memories.

Case and Smith families-I am so sorry for your loss. I was so fortunate to have Jane for many classes and to have a seminar with her when she arranged a tuition-free pediatric internship for some of us. I'll always remember how happy and at home she was at the Nisonger Center too. Beyond impacting students, it is amazing to think of how many children she touched via her teaching. OSU OT 1993

I had the opportunity to work with Jane as a student in the summer of 2010. She welcomed me with open arms. She was passionate, wise, and made me feel like I could achieve anything I set my mind too. I had the opportunity to work with Jane on several projects in OT and pediatrics and was honored to come to Ohio State and give the Hite Lecture one year. Her wisdom, compassion and engagement with knowledge and her students was wonderful to witness! She will be missed!
