I am so sorry for your loss. I just received my Courier from Saint Mary's College and read about Jane's passing. She was the first person that I met on campus. She told me that her name was Erin and that's what I called her. She explained later to me that she had wanted to be called Erin once she was in college but that she would always be Jane. She was a lovely girl. How tragic that she is gone.

Dear Dan and Family, John, Sue and Dan,
I just read in The Catholic Times today of Janie's passing. We elected Janie our Senior Class President at St. Mary of the Springs...she was so loved and respected by all. I hope that many happy memories fill the quiet moments and may God give you strength during the tough ones. My love to you all.

Dan and Andrew John and Dan, Christy and Vicky and everyone who loved Jane, what a very sad time. Christy, Vicky she was so proud of you and the wonderful women you have become. She thought Chloe and Harrison were divine.
It was so interesting to hear her speak of her family, her parents, her brothers John and Dan, their children, Sam and Maggie and Christopher, and a couple of others too, sorry I can't remember their names. Jane was such a beauty, so fun and funny, so generous, so well read, so good natured. So exact and careful, but easy going too. I loved hearing about everyone she cared about- and that was alot of people; how much pride she took in her family, what she was thinking about, how she liked being involved -as she would say, she wanted 'the skinny'. Andrew she was so proud of you, and one of the last things I remember her telling me was how she thought you were such a kind person, and how that made her feel as though she'd done a good job raising you. Jane was kind. She was sweet and interested in people. Jane had high standards, she didn't fudge. Dan, my sympathy and admiration for your love and steadfastness toward Jane. I will never forget her and I will miss her always. Jane raised the bar, and we would do well to try and emulate her many many sterling qualities. I'm sorry for all of us, she was one of the most remarkable women I've ever known.

I did not meet Jane's present family, though I spent one day with her brothers and parents many many years ago and they were a very warm wonderful family and we had a great time playing games with them back in 1970, i think. I went to college with Jane, but really got to know her when we were housemates in Boston we ended up working in the same company together: QED…Quality Educational Development where we were paid to develop curricular materials for 3rd graders on the newest technology- 4 track cassette tapes. Fortunately for the company (because we developed very little) they went out of business and Jane and I collected unemployment checks in the spring of 1971. What fun. She was a very lovely, loving, generous, kind, thoughtful person and I enjoyed our daily gabfests enormously. I never felt the world could give Jane back half what she gave it. I have been immensely sad these past years learning of her plight from Cathy White and am more than just sad to hear of her passing. Warmest condolences to her husband and brothers, children, grandchildren. You lost a beautiful person, I know and we all share your grief.
