Janet Rettstatt Obituary

Rettstatt Janet Rettstatt,born February 8, 1940 in Wauseon, Ohio, went home to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, from the Kobacker House Monday morning August 19th, 2013. Janet was loved by many including her devoted husband, Harold; son, John (Tracy Burby) and their children, John, Jacob, Audrey, and Bridgette; son, Doug (Abby Winkler) and their children, Luke, Shirley, Mark, David, Tommy, and Annie; and son, Jeff (Cheri Sowards) and their children, Michael, Cole, and Lily; daughter, Jennifer Hartshorn (Todd) and their children, Haleigh, Payton, and Thad; sister, Marcia Seibel Rohrs (Dan); brother, Bill Seibel (Jerilyn Rogers); and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Janet was preceded in death by her parents John and Amy Seibel. Janet was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She worked as a teacher in the Columbus and Gahanna-Jefferson School Districts for a number of years, but her true passion was studying the Bible and ministering to others through friendship and discipleship. She has been a member of the Grace Brethren Church for the past 40 years. She was a long-time discussion leader for Bible Study Fellowship and the Grace Brethren's Tapestry ministry for women. She was an avid gardener and cultivated beauty in every area of her life. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Brethren Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Rd., Westerville. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. high St. Memorial gifts can be sent to Worthington Christian School or Grace Brethren Church of Columbus. Dear Family of Janet, I remember Janet as a dear and gracious woman who loved the Lord. I am sad to hear of her passing and I'm sure she will be missed by all of you and all who knew her. Janet truly was a special woman loved and cherished by many. She had a Godly wisdom full of grace and truth. She encouraged and strengthened so many by pointing them to her Risen Savior. She will be missed by all her knew her. A special prayer of comfort and peace to her precious Harold and family.
