Not a waking hour of any day has passed without a thought, a smile, a memory...you're everywhere.
Throwing back to our deep musings , missing you is an inexplicable symphony of joy, sadness, peace and irritation... Like traffic leaving Disney World. Crazy, huh?
YOU were such an incredible home, a haven. All these years and the world is still a wretched place without you, but WE'RE TRYING TO DO BETTER! (Sometimes).
Enjoy the presence of our Most High Lord!
Missing you til I get there...

To the Hall Family, Jim touched each of us in the Buffalo Den from Cub Scout Woodbadge Training. He was so proud of his sons, over the years we have shared many memories, and had the opportunity to become friends. He comforted us during my husbands illness this last year, without a word about his own trials. He is a great man and will truly be missed. Cindy Childs, Buffalo Den Leader

Jimmy & I met online when he emailed a comment on an essay that I'd written. His 'handle' was Decentman & I was the Sugahrush. Our love of words, music, and debate made for lively--and lengthy conversations. Our devotion to family, and unwavering faith & fascination with our God kept us in constant discovery of each other & what His plan.
When his illness was diagnosed,he told me to "go on with my life".I retorted, "DUDE!I've BEEN goin' on with my life...ONE OF US is just ridin' shotgun!"
Jimmy & I met face to face a couple of days before his birthday this year. Meeting his family was like visiting old friends (thanks to Facebook). With His beautiful sister Linda, I laughed and teased him about how much hair he once had!
Seeing & touching the face of my Jimmy Alan was like seeing an Angel.Though his body had been ravaged and the voice that once read my essays & poetry was a whisper, I could only see the PURE HEART that had been predestined to be "my home" for a time.
Stories abound about tragedies on the internet. For a Decentman like Jimmy Alan, it was just another "divine detour" on a journey to heaven. It was here that though unseen, he proved and opened his heart and It was "clean, pure, and at ease". There is nothing to fear in a clean heart...
I thank God daily, hourly, that we met on this 'highway'. He once called me a "Decentman's Sugahrush" which cracked me up. I just pray that his life was sweetened even a little by our time together. His departure leaves me feeling rather...homeless. However, my heart is also being perfected and I'll see him again. HALLELEUIA!

To the Hall family,
I met Jim when recruiting leaders for Cub Pack 781. We worked on a lot of projects together over the years for the scouts. Jim had a love of the Pinewood Derby and took a lot of time to improve an old track and help the boys "build" their racing cars.
Jim also took boy scouts under his wing and allowed them to be den chiefs and work with the cub scouts. This helped the older boys learn leadership and how to work with younger boys.
May God hold his family close during their time of need.

I had only known Jimmy for a little over two years, as we were slated to be business partners (which... never panned out), but I instantly bonded with him, and felt as if I had known him forever. Before I knew it, we were like brothers from a different mother. We shared a love of history, politics, baseball, music, good conversation, and an occasional good beer. I found him to be incredibly intelligent, very articulate, funny, caring, compassionate, unselfish, a great listener, a VERY PROUD FATHER, and most importantly, a man of unwaivering faith.
Despite our brief time together, I am proud and priviledged to have known this wonderful, unique man, and I will forever miss my friend, confidant, and spiritual mentor. I am undoubtedly a much better person for having known Jimmy Hall.
Rest in peace Jimmy, and please put in a good word for me with the man upstairs (I need all the help I can get). Hopefully we will meet up again on the other side.
