John Crawford Obituary

Crawford John Fraher Crawford, born September 6, 1950, died November 29, 2013. Preceded in death by parents Mary B. and John J. Crawford. Survived by partner of 38 years, Dr. Donald M. Ehret; sisters, Molly Linville, Ellen Scherer, Ann Collinger, Elizabeth Jennings; brothers, Patrick Crawford, Daniel Crawford; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graduate of Watterson High School, much of John's life was devoted to the culinary profession. Trained in restaurants in Boston and Cape Cod, he was an award winning chef for many years in Columbus, most notably at the University Club, the Metropolitan Club and the residence of Governor Richard Celeste. Family will receive friends at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center, OH 43035, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 7. Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow. The family welcomes donations to Columbus AIDS Task Force, 4400 N. High St., #300, Columbus, OH 43214 in his memory. Arrangements by O'SHAUGHNESSY CO., 614-221-2311.

sugarbritches was always a great friend and will be missed dearly. I hate the fact that I wont be able to attend Saturdays service.he was in my conversation just thanksgiving day,must of been telling me goodbye.be well don john loved you dearly,not sure how you put up with him so long. oh, yes I do.all who were friends are in our thoughts this day.

John loved this picture of him and me and I do too! He said we looked like brother and sister. He was one of the most talkative guys I know but also one of the happiest and nicest!

We were so very sorry to hear about Johnny but we have so many fond memories of our years together on the swim team and of course Johnny's diving. He had the most impish, devilish smile, one you could not help but fall in love with. He will be missed by so many and our hearts go out to all his siblings.
