John Kemper Obituary

KEMPER John L. Kemper, October 1 1937 - September 16, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents John W. and Zelma (Blaser) Kemper and his sister Nancy A (Kemper) Reed. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Elaine M. (Sumner) Kemper; children, Deborah (Ken) Armitage of Key West, Fl, Jeffrey (Michelle) Kemper of Columbus, OH, Karen (Paul) Hocter of Clark Lake, MI.; grandchildren, Katherine (Brandon) Hocter Gunn, Kristen (Greg Knackstedt) Armitage, Timothy (Jody) Hocter, Matthew Armitage, Ashley Kemper, Jeffrey Kemper Jr., Jennifer Armitage Kiesling, Sarah (Issac) Armitage Ralph; great-grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Ralph, Trenton and Austin Hocter, Brenna and Junie Kielsing, Gregory Knackstedt II, Gracie Gunn and new baby Gunn due March 2013; sister, Margaret (William) Kemper Metzner; in-laws, Beryl Bethardy, Tom Sumner, Paula Sumner, Brian (Ann) Sumner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. John was a regional sales manager with Precision Foods for almost 20 years and prior had a 20 year career with Johnson and Johnson. Besides his wife, the loves of John's life were fishing, reading, New York Times crossword puzzles, sports and most of all spending time sharing all of these things with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What everyone remembers most was his sharp wit and sense of humor. Friends may call on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, Ohio, where funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or your local Hospice. Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a favorite memory of John.
