Janet,
Sorry to hear about John’s passing. It’s been a couple years since I last saw him, but he has crossed my mind off and on and I’d often wonder how he was doing. I’ll never understand why we sometimes put off visiting a friend or a loved one, and then before we know it, it’s too late. Your husband was a wonderful man and he will certainly be missed, but never forgotten.
I had the pleasure of meeting you back in 2013 when we went to see the Bruce Springfield tribute band Bruce in the USA at the OU Lancaster campus. You were so much fun and John was a lucky man to have you in his life for 30+ years. Married 34 I think I read. Keep your family close especially through the upcoming holidays. I’m sure there will be many memories to reflect on. You will be in my thoughts ❤

Dear Janet & family, I'm truly sorry for your loss and wish you condolences during this time. I learned so much from John when we worked together, and he was instrumental in so much of the work we did. John had so many stories and was passionate about so many things that I still find myself chuckling about his tales from growing up, Youngstown & cooking...a lot of stories about cooking! John was an amazing person and will be dearly missed.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I new John for at least 35 years at Ross/Abbott and outside of work. We fished and talked fishing. He loved lake Erie and going outside. Boy did he have the stories. We blamed it on the Youngstown in him. He loved his family very much and I am sure he was a great husband and father. God Bless.

So heartbroken to learn of this news. Besides John's brilliant mind and his matter-of-fact tone of speech, I admired his passion for cooking and gardening. He was this big guy with thick skin yet with a soft heart. When I was going through a hard season in my personal life, I remember how he stopped me in the hallway one day at work and just gave me a big hug. No words, just a big hug from a big guy. There's no crying in baseball, neither is there time for tears in the business day, but I will always remember that simple gesture of his. After his stroke, some of us would visit him - not often, but on occasion. And in those moments and especially now in hindsight, I consider it such an honor when we can blur and cross-over the lines between what happens at work and what happens in life. Though years had passed and despite his very difficult condition, John would still ask me how my children (then in the NICU) and how my husband (then on a cancer journey) were doing. Big guy, soft heart. When I would visit him, after updating him on things at work, he would shift to talking about Janet. Undoubtedly, she was his world and how John loved Janet - who is one heck of an amazing woman! Praying for God's comfort for Janet, Joey and Tyler and all their family.

My condolences to your family on the passing of John. I worked with him at Abbott for many years. John was an intelligent market researcher and a true professional on sharing his beliefs on what the data was telling him. He could read markets and consumer data way before the current technological advancements. He will be missed.

Janet,
We were so sad and shocked to learn about John’s passing. We have such fond memories of our time as neighbors on Black Gold. Brent was in awe of John’s projects and remember the clinking noise of shaping stone for the retaining wall. It is hard to believe that it has been over 20 years since we were neighbors. We have since moved to Florida. Praying for you and the boys.
Fondly, Brent and Christe Snoke
