John Schneider Obituary

Schneider John Edward Schneider, age 56, of Etna, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 28, 2016. John leaves behind his three cherished children, James Edward and Andrew Vincent Schneider and DiAnna Ellen (Tyler) Himes. The son of William and Ann Schneider, John is survived by his parents and three of his siblings, Kirk (Kathy) Schneider, Mary Ann (Randy) Eaton, and Laura Jones. He is preceded in death by his youngest brother Andrew. He is also survived by granddaughter, Raegan Ann Marie; niece, Amy (Jude) Mesh; and nephew, Josh (Whitney) Schneider; as well as many close and dear cousins. A man who never knew a stranger, he was blessed with countless friends from all walks of life. John loved unconditionally. He was the quintessential loyal friend and champion of the underdog - someone who would drop whatever he was doing when called upon for help. He had a "super crazy work ethic" and could fix anything. The "king of random road trips," John loved to pick up and go at a moment's notice. It was not unusual for him to drive to Florida to see his parents on a Friday then head home 24 hours later. He absolutely loved autumn and its changing leaves, which took him and his kids down many a country road. And, no one loved to tell a good story like John. A 1977 graduate of Eastmoor High School and proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, John served his country aboard the USS Wainwright. He was a long-time member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 189 as an HVAC service technician. He frequently said the thing he did most right in life was to have three of the sweetest, most loving children. Donations can be made for his children through KeyBank in care of John Schneider. The family is holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2 p.m., at Xenos 4th Street Pavilion, 1934 N. 4th Street, Columbus 43201. Arrangements entrusted with JOHN QUINT TREBONI, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. To share condolences visit johnquint.com.

John will always be remembered as an wonderful friend with a smile you could never forget. I kidded him about being a Tom Selleck look alike, and he always corrected me " don't you mean Magnum PI". We had recently reconnected and picked right back up where we left off. He will be missed. Bruce and Vicki Hammond
