Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a great police officer and detective and a mentor to me. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories and he was a loving father, proud of his family and always talking about them.

I can vouch for John's love of telling police stories. Whether we were together for five minutes or an hour, he had stories, great and small, to tell. Whenever I ran into him, he was always smiling and lighthearted. He was friendly when a it wasn't uncommon for women patrol officers to be treated like interlopers. When John was in Homicide, he and his partner responded to a particularly traumatizing incident for me. He made me laugh at one point which was just what I needed. Although I never saw him after I retired, he is someone I've always remembered with affection.

My condolences to his family and friends.

John, You and I and Tom Hill and the entire Organized crime Bureau made a few people mad at us back around 1981-2 but we did our job. You taught me a lot, You were trust worthy, respected and one of the best partners I had. That case we did still goes down as the largest criminal case in the history of Franklin County.
God Bless you my friend and thank for all the good times we all had together in that office.

George and I have very fond memories of working with John. John joined CPD a year before George, my husband. I worked with both John and his wife Colleen, while a prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office. John was always so kind and fun-loving. Although we have not seen John since retirement, our memories of him will always be very, very good ones. You have our deepest sympathies.
