I am so deeply saddened to learn of my dear friend having passed, and can't tell everyone how much his friendship and mentoring meant to me over the years. I worked for John, and with him throughout his time at Banc One, and my heart goes out to his family. He was a great person, and cared so very much for his family and friends. He always made me smile, as we commiserated through some tough times together. John was one of the gentlest men I have ever met. He was like a father to me after my own passed away. I am so very sorry I did not know of his passing, and regret not being there for him and his family (though they did not know me). You all have wonderful memories of him I am sure, as do I. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. He was a one-of-a-kind legacy whom very many many people will miss.

I worked for John for over a year, the last year of his life and enjoyed many conversations with him -- I will miss him -- he cared so much for his children and grandchildren and I was impressed by how much they all cared for him and how well they took care of him during those last months of his life!!!!

To John's family,

I want to send my prayers and thoughts during this difficult time for your family. John and I were not close, but I always enjoyed playing golf with him or just sharing a laugh at lunch at Heritage Golf Club. He was such a pleasant person to be around and will be missed.
