Joseph Macomber Obituary

MACOMBER Joseph "Joe" Macomber, age 62, of Worthington, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Joe was born in Munich, Germany on June 20, 1949. He attended The Ohio State University and retired from UPS in 2004 after 32 years of dedicated service. Joe was a member of the Brookside Woods Civic Association and the Far Northwest Coalition. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his close group of friends and was a huge animal lover. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Hilda Macomber. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Renee Macomber; aunt, Judy Jackson; cousin, Sue Goure; father-in-law, Eugene Jaquay; sisters in-law, Dee (Jim) Slee, Denise (Mike) Evans and Celeste (Tom Lifland) Doane; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 473 S. Roys Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Fr. Stanley Benecki, celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations in Joe's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Renee, I was so sad to hear of the passing of Joe. It was a pleasure to have worked with him at UPS for 18 yrs until he retired in 03. I was very honored when he came to my retirement party in 07, it meant a lot to me. He was one of the best management people at UPS. It was my pleasure to have known him. He was a very funny & caring person.
