Joseph E. Waldron, age 82, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away July 27, 2017. He was born December 28, 1934 in Vinton Co., Ohio. Joe attended The Ohio State School for the Blind and started his career there for 43 + years. He was the longtime president of the Welfare Association of the Sightless. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years Earlene Reynolds, parents Oather and Eleanor Waldron, one brother and one sister. Survived by his daughters, Linda (Pat) Zborek and Sandra Mollett; grandsons, Matt Kinney, Chris Kinney and Ed Mollett; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters. Visitation for Joseph will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 4341 N. High St., Columbus, Oh 43214, at 1-3 p.m. with the service to follow.

Joe, Its been a year. you were a dear, dear friend. We had such a wonderful working relationship during my 20 plus years at the Ohio State School for the Blind. I miss you very much. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

I spoke with Mr. Waldron only a few times but he was very nice. My wife and I own his previous home and he told me stories about working on the house; about the flooding of the basement during the his father's funeral and his subsequent digging (by hand) the entire perimeter to install drain lines and a sump pump. He also mentioned how he and his wife wished they would have taken our current porch swing (which we use all the time). I am happy to own a piece of his history and think of his stories when continuing in his footsteps on house projects. Our thoughts are with his family in his passing.

Worked with Joe for over 20 years at OSSB and just reconnected with him around his 80th birthday. It saddens me to learn of his passing but it makes my heart feel good to know that he is now with his beloved wife Earlene. I have a lot of great & funny memories associated with Joe and the school. Rest In Peace my friend.

I am so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. My condolence to the family left behind. He loved and cherished each and everyone.. He was a dear dear friend to me. I loved getting together with him, we could always share stories of our time together at OSSB. I will miss him greatly. He was a true friend. He was great Maintenance Supt. At the School. He always had the best interest of students and staff at heart. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Joe was a wonderful maintenance director at the School for the Blind.
He really cared about what was best for the students. He made sure the gym and swimming pool were clean and always quickly helped to set up tables and chairs for whatever event was happening. I really appreciated his willingness to be a team player to make things happen. I remember him fondly and hope family and all friends hold the good memories of him close for a long time.
