I knew Joy from Kittles Furniture. What a special lady. So kind. So professional. Always smiling. I loved our meetings and chats. Often she’d share updates on her family. Such a great co-worker, wife, mom, grandmother and friend. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Joy Perkins, after having met her through her husband, Tom Perkins. I met Mr. Perkins at a Health Fair. Our tables were next to each other. I was representing the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. I am a pancreatic survivor. Mr Perkins shared with me that Joy had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and OSU said they couldn’t do surgery. I gave telephone number to him and told him to ask Joy to call me. She didn’t call right away, but when she did, I encouraged her to not give up. Get a second opinion, which she did. That was the beginning of a text and phone call friendship. She attended the 5K Purple Stride Run for pancreatic cancer in September 2018, and attended some of the meetings. I was very sadden to learn of her passing. I felt bad that I hadn’t been in touch in a while. I had started chemotherapy again and it was very difficult. Joy was a beautiful lady. I will always have very fond memories of her. My condolences to the family. From listening to the service, there are lots of good memories. Praying that you all will find comfort and peace in those memories. May God bless you all.
