June Perry Obituary

June (Vieira) Perry
February 12, 1930 -
March 28, 2013
Resident of Rossmoor
June was an optimistic romantic, an energized citizen, and a magical teacher. Her children and students were amazingly fortunate to know her generous spirit and peerless ability to find the best in each individual.
After surviving the Depression in New Bedford MA, she moved as an adult to California and embraced the natural and cultural beauties of her adopted state, while raising three children. She began as a Teacher's Aid in the Pleasanton Unified School District in 1969, then earned her teaching credential at Saint Mary's College. "Mrs. V" retired from Amador Valley High in 1995, having helped countless numbers of learning disabled students. June also dedicated many years to California Scholarship Federation and served as President of the local League of Woman's Voters.
In later life, she continued to teach and enjoyed living in Rossmoor. Dear niece, Renee, and grandchildren, Jackson and Lia, brightened her days. She was predeceased by her younger brother, David, and parents Gaston and Mary Perry. Survivors include daughter Stephanie, and sons Jeffrey and Robert, as well as son-in-law Steven, daughter-in-law Lisa, and brother Carlton. A Celebration of June's Life will be held April 13 at 3pm in the Grace Presbyterian Church (2100 Tice Valley Blvd Walnut Creek, CA 94595)

Dear Mutti: Instead of sitting with you in the beautiful surroundings of Grace Presbyterian´s Memorial Garden, Lisa and I are in Washington DC among the cherry blossoms. You always wanted me to visit here and I thank you for being here with me. =Fortunate Son, Bob

You never met me, but I know I'd love you.

June was with me yesterday as I stood in the peaceful Kauai forest. She also watched as I worked on a grand African Tulip tree, having taught me so much of my work ethic. I thanked the tree for its long life and my mother for remaining with me. I love ❤ you, Mutti.

She was the best mother in the universe. Her peace was the marriage of her gentle nature and her inner core strength. Wow. =Bob=

Delightful, curious, engaged and so welcoming . . . I met June only once and will remember her forever. May she, her family and friends find peace in knowing her love still lives in them.
