In this era of false heroes and fabricated accomplishments, Warren Mitchell stands above the rest by virtue of his having been a Good Man who was loved and respected for his genuine humanity and good will. Our world is diminished in no small measure by his passing. Resquiscat in Pace.

I miss Warren and had numerous phone conversations with him during the years that I traded info and bought dimestore soldiers from him. I've added this note because I didn't intend to be "anonymous" when I signed the guest book July 24, 2011

Dear Mitchell family,
I just recently learned of Mr. Mitchell`s passing,I send my condolences to all of you! While I never met Mr. Mitchell,I always had plesent albeit brief conversations on the phone with him! In my most recent written correspondence with him,I sent him a picture of my collection,he replied,"Nice dispaly"! That made me feel good about my toy soldier collection!I also asked him about price ranges for Heyde Prussian grenadiers of the Seven years war,and prices on Kresge composition figures of the American Revolutionary war, he was quick to respond! I really appreciate all the things I learned from him about collecting toy soldiers! Mr. Mitchell will be greatly missed!

I received information and numerous toy soldier items from Mr. Mitchell since about 1980.
He was a MOST respected and Fair source of high quality items, and he would sometimes ask a collector who had already purchased a lot of a particular figure, to fore-go so one with a more limited collection could enjoy that piece!
A remarkable person in many ways.
All of us who knew him and interacted with him will miss Warren!

I'm greatly saddened by the loss of a true American and friend....I'll forever miss him and the e-mails we forwarded to each other on a daily basis. Those e-mails were a constant reminder to me of the many good people and the many good things life has to offer....God Bless you, Warren. I look forward to seeing you in glory.
