Katherine Colley Obituary

COLLEY Katherine "Katie" Colley. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Katherine Colley. Born August 5, 1921, in Kentucky, passed September 3, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her Mother, waiting to greet her at the gates of heaven, husband Lawrence Woodrow Colley, Sr., daughter Betty Lou Cooley, son Lonnie Paul Salyers, 1 grandson and 1 great-granddaughter. She will be missed everyday by 6 children, Lanford (Charlotte) Salyers, Letha (John) Rogers, Patty (James) Milburn, Larry (Debbie) Colley, Jr., Michael Colley, and Yvonne (David) Gould. Also survived by beloved granddaughters and caregivers, Beverly (James) Fisher and Tina (Don) McKinley; 29 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 1 sister; son-in-law, Mason Cooley. This precious soul was born to be a loving wife and mother and that she did to the fullest. Social activities outside her home were not for her, she was always content to take care of her family and home, and we feel blessed by her love. Suffering from the effects of Dementia, she has been lovingly cared for the past 5 years by the loving staff and residents of The Village of Westerville, who always went above and beyond to love and care for Mom. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the loving care of Mom over the past few months, especially Kim and Ruth. Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m., EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., where service will be held Saturday 10 a.m. Chaplain Deb Click officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. www.evansfuneralhome.net. Sign the online guestbook at www.dispatch.com/obituaries

To the entire Colley family-
I know it is hard to believe the sadness you are feeling now will ever go away. It will, and it's replacement will be the wonderful stories of your mom's life passed on to future generations, and told (with alot of laughter) again and again. Katie's memory will always live in you. You are a very special family. Thank you for letting me be a part of your mom's care.
Sincerely,
Kim Norman

Bev, Jim, and family of Katie Colley
I am so, so sorry for the loss of your mother/grandmother. I know there aren't any words to ease your pain, but Grandpa Colley has waited a long time for the moment he sees his love again. Hopefully you can take some comfort in that, knowing that they watch you from above and will live forever in your hearts.
