Kelly loved Myrtle Beach; he especially loved to fish and crab off the pier at Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach. Kelly loved buying and letting off fire works. He loved his motorcycle and often could be found at odd hours in the garage polishing his bike. He is survived by his parents of West Jefferson and a twin brother, Patrick Lee Rankin of Galloway. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Glade May officiating. You know how much I loved this boy. I will always remember how much he loved to wear the Cuban shirts and his ruby red cheeks. We will all miss him. Remember God promised us a place in heaven, and Kelly will get to claim his. Someday we will all be together in the Sweet By and By. God bless you and give you peace at this time of sorrow.

August 12,2009 Dear Betty, Jerry, and Pat, I want to share a memory that I have of Kelly and Pat. We all were visiting Barbara in Tampa. The twins were about 10 years old at the time. We were discussing our relationship with the Lord. You related that both the twins had accepted the Lord as their Saviour at VBS. We were so excited for them. I didn't know the boys very well because of us living so faraway. I greatly appreciate the pictures you shared with me throughout their youth. You all are in our prayers and thoughts during this time. We love all of you dearly.

I graduated with Kelly and Pat, I am truly sorry for your loss. Kelly is the first class member to pass away in the class of 1988. My memories of Kelly were that he was always smiling and didn't get riled up easily. Just an easy going guy who was fun to talk with. My thoughts will be with all of you as you go through this difficult time.
