Larry Ebert Obituary

Ebert, Larry Jr.
1970 - 2018
"Good leaders must first become good servants." Larry Ebert was a humble man with a heart for service who dedicated his life to caring for others. To his co-workers, his friends, and especially his family he was the epitome of a servant leader. Larry G. Ebert, Jr., age 48, peacefully passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in his Fredericktown home surrounded by family after a very recent cancer diagnosis. He was born Valentine's Day 1970 in Columbus to parents Larry G. Ebert, Sr. and Barbara J. (Kirk) Ebert. After graduating Columbus West High School with the class of 1988, he attended The Ohio State University and earned his BS in Nursing from Capital University in 1996. Larry, the high school football player, fell in love with cheerleader Mary Ann Klever at age 16. In college, when Larry's romantic proposal didn't go as planned, he popped the question in the Sears parking lot and the pair married on September 15, 1990. Together they raised three kids who look up to their parents' relationship as a beautiful love story. Larry held varying positions at The Ohio State University Hospital for over 27 years most of that time as an operating room nurse. He was a member of North Liberty United Methodist Church. In spare time, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and making his own maple syrup. On days off, he spent time gaming with family and friends and was known as a gadget man. He was an avid OSU sports fan and loved going to football games. But above all, Larry cherished attending his children's activities. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Ann Ebert of Fredericktown; son, Larry G. Ebert, III (Samantha); daughter, Emily A. Ebert; son, Michael A. Ebert; grandson, Robin P. Ebert; mother, Barbara J. Ebert; father, Larry G. Ebert, Sr. (Sylvia); brother, John (Nichole) Ebert; nephews, Logan (Abigail) Ebert and Seth Ebert; great-nephew, Elijah Ebert; half-sisters, Danielle Bober and Theresa Hazlett; brother-in-law, Doug (Connie) Klever and their children, Brian, Eric, and Abigail; mother-in-law, Mary Catherine Klever; extended family, Shannon (Bobby) Slayton, Ashdon (Kevin) Lucas and their children, Christian and Madison, Christy Smith, Cameron Smith; along with aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by father-in-law Richard L. Klever. His family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. in Storyside Church (541 St Rt 97 W, Bellville), where a funeral service honoring Larry's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Ruth Douglas will officiate and burial will follow at North Liberty Cemetery in Butler. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Scholarship Fund for Michael A. Ebert may be made at his services. Snyder Funeral Home in Bellville is honored to serve Larry's family and encourage you to share a memory and watch his tribute video at SnyderFuneralHomes.com
