Lillian Kapelewski Obituary

Kapelewski, O.P. Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Lillian Kapelewski, died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on January 5, 2017. She was born in 1926 in Amsterdam, OH and in 1943 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She ministered in NY, CT, and in Ohio in Cincinnati, Somerset and Columbus. She was a Physical Therapy Aide and served the congregation as Sacristan in their Mohun Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Mary Wilks Kapelewski, and her brothers Charles, Walter and Antonio. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Audrey Kapelewski. Her body will be received at the Columbus Motherhouse on January 17 at 3 p.m. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. with the wake continuing until 7 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Columbus Motherhouse at 9 a.m. on January 18 followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME. Memorial gifts in Sr. Lillian's memory may be sent to the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Office of Mission Advancement, 2320 Airport Dr., Columbus, OH 43219 or submitted securely at oppeace.org
