Lizzie Jolley Obituary

Jolley Lizzie Mae Jolley, age 102. Lizzie joined the Heavenly Choir on February 2, 2016 after more than a century of singing on earth. Lizzie was born on Dec. 10, 1913 in Montezuma, Georgia where she grew up. Her parents were Elige Jolley and Amanda Walker Jolley. Some of her known siblings were Jewely, Hattie, Minnie, Anna and Elijah. Lizzie moved to Florida with her first husband, Paul Austin. Later, Lizzie moved to Columbus, Ohio and was married for a short time to Lace McKenzie. She was an active member of an Apostolic Church in Columbus where she sang in the choir. Lizzie loved to sing, especially hymns, and every morning her beautiful voice entertained the staff and residents of Highbanks Care Center where she spent the last few months of her life. Lizzie has no known surviving family but she will be missed by her Volunteer Guardian and her friends at Highbanks. Arrangements have been entrusted to COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, Columbus, in cooperation with West Mortuary, Montezuma, GA. Lizzie will be laid to rest beside her mother and father in the Mt. Pleasant CME Church cemetery in Montezuma, GA. If you knew Lizzie, or are a family member, please contact Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home. Online guestbook at www.cookandsonpallay.com
