Louise Albers Obituary

Albers Louise Sugar Albers, beloved wife and mother, of Blacklick, Ohio, died peacefully on May 6, 2017 at Kobacker House. She was born in Columbus on March 9, 1928, the daughter of James V. and Teresa Z. Sugar. Louise attended St. Mary of the Springs from kindergarten through high school, graduating in June, 1945. A lifelong Buckeye fan, she attended Ohio State University, where she graduated with a B.A. in English in June, 1949. Louise met James B. Albers during her last year of college, and they were married at St. Catharine Church in Columbus on January 21, 1950. In the following seven years, they were blessed with three daughters and two sons. Louise was an avid and competitive tennis player, along with her husband, children and friends. She also enjoyed paddle, and was an accomplished bridge player as part of a group of wonderful friends at Rocky Fork Hunt Club for the last several years. Louise's family was the center of her universe. Each child, grandchild and great-grandchild, was a thrilling blessing in her eyes. She had a special smile reserved just for those children, and as a result they were always aware of her unconditional love and devotion. The fact that her family has grown to 37 was the pride and joy of her life, as she maintained repeatedly in her last few days. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Augustine Sugar Roland. She is survived by her husband, James Bernard Albers, Esq.; sons, James Sugar Albers (Alisa) and John Bernard Albers (Elizabeth); and daughters, Victoria Albers Wentz (Lindsey), Susan Albers Zelasko (Gregory) and Karen Albers Larson. Louise is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Louise Wentz Lynch (Chuck), Rob Wentz, Kristen Albers, Katherine Albers (Ben), Macsen Albers, Joe Zelasko (Angela), Mike Zelasko, Maggie Zelasko; Rebecca Larson Badgett (Jonathan), Caroline Larson Heinz (Ian), Jack Albers (Aaron), Will Albers, Kate Albers, and Luke Albers; and six great-grandchildren, Charlie Lynch, George Lynch, Gracie Lynch, James Heinz, Madeline Heinz and Jack Badgett. The family would like to give special thanks to Louise's caregivers from Buckeye Home Health Care and Assurance Care Group, and especially to Kobacker House, which is staffed only by angels. There will be a Funeral Service for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, 716 Mt. Airyshire Blvd., #100, Columbus, OH, 43235, or to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, OH 43214. Condolences may be offered through www.egan-ryan.com.

Dear Jim and family,

As I hear of your loss, I'm reminded of how grateful I am for the time I have had with my own mother in this life. Our mothers have been such a blessing in our lives, and they will continue to bless us even now and in the future.

Children and grandchildren continue the legacy their mothers begin. Your mother has built a strong legacy that I know will continue on.

Many blessings upon you and your family, and strength during this time are my prayers.

Dear Karen and the entire Albers clan,

I first met you when I lived on Knoll Drive. All of you marched on to my property from the Albers property in 1983. I have loved your family ever since. Louise was a vivacious, charismatic, energetic, giving and sweet person. I am so happy to have known her. Her beautiful spirit lives on through each and every one of you. Take care of each other. Be healthy, Be happy! She is already watching over all of you!

Love,

Julie Rosenblum Karmia

Dear Susan, You and your entire family are in my prayers. Thank you for sharing your lovely mother's warmth with so many of us CSG girls. I'll always remember those walks to your house after school and how she greeted us with such joy...and cookies...and Buckeyes! She was a treasure. As you bask in your memories may you feel the love of God covering you with the peace that surpasseth all understanding.
